Sorbitan Monostearate
—
Span 60 (Sorbitan Monostearate) is a nonionic surfactant, appearing as a white to pale yellow waxy solid at room temperature. It is slightly soluble in water but easily dissolves in organic solvents. Its molecular structure contains hydrophilic hydroxyl groups and lipophilic long-chain fatty acids, providing excellent emulsifying, dispersing, and stabilizing properties. Span 60 is insensitive to pH changes, chemically stable, and highly compatible.
